Trainee Detective Constable - Eastern Area

Cheshire Constabulary are now open for applications for trainee DCs that wish to transfer to Cheshire from any other Home Office force.

Being a Detective is not only challenging, but also extremely rewarding. You will be the difference that helps make Cheshire safer, serve our local communities and strive to achieve the right outcome for victims and their families.

You could find yourself dealing some of the most complex cases and no two days will be the same. You could be analysing evidence, preparing for court, or talking to witnesses one day and the other interviewing suspects or working towards safeguarding a child or adult.

We are looking for someone who has Resilience, Determination and Compassion to provide a strong foundation in making a successful Detective.

The application system only remains active on a single page for a period of 60 minutes. Please therefore ensure you allow time to complete this fully as part complete pages will not be saved .

The Competency Values Framework (CVF) provides clear expectations for everyone working in policing. It describes behaviours required by all officers and members of staff and it will be used in the recruitment process to assess your suitability for the role to which you are applying.
