Following your initial 2-year probationary period you will have the opportunity to progress through the ranks and continue to develop the wide range of skills that a professional career in policing will provide.

With regards to eligibility, you must hold a Level 3 qualification (two A Levels grade A*-D) or equivalent qualification or hold a qualification gained outside England and Wales considered by the UK National recognition Information Centre to be Level 3. We will also consider anybody without the above who has relevant experience.

You must be 18 years of age by the intake date and hold a Full UK manual driving license. Please note that if you have any tattoos, photographs MUST be uploaded in the attachment section of the application form.

We anticipate a lot of interest in this opportunity and as such the application window will remain open for a minimum of 48 hours, after which we will continually monitor the number of applications that we receive to ensure that we are able to manage the recruitment process and your candidate journey throughout this campaign.

  • Situational Judgement Test: Week commencing 20th - 30th January 2025
  • Online Assessment Centre: Week commencing 3rd February 2025
  • Interviews: Week commencing10th March - 21st March 2025
  • Pre-Employment Days: Week commencing 31st March 2025
  • Intake Starts: 16th June 2025
Please note - You can only apply for one entry route. Do not submit applications for both the Police and Detective entry route, if you do you will be asked to choose a route before we can progress your application to the next stage.

Please note - Holidays during the first 20 weeks of initial training will not be authorised. If successful in the process, you will need to be available for the full 20 week initial training. This is to ensure no vital training is missed.

The Competency Values Framework (CVF) provides clear expectations for everyone working in policing. It describes behaviours required by all officers and members of staff and it will be used in the recruitment process to assess your suitability for the role to which you are applying.

It is not a requirement that you should have a detailed knowledge of the framework, should you wish to familiarise yourself with it to support you in the recruitment process please follow the below link.
