Quantity Surveyor - Defence

 

Location: Glasgow - 3 days week required onsite

Start Date: February 2025

Duration: 6 months - option to extend up to two years

Hours per week: 40 hrs

Rate: £40ph

Security Clearance: Applicants must currently hold SC clearance.

 

Searchability NS&D are currently recruiting a Quantity Surveyor for a UK leading national security & defence organisation.

The successful candidate will come from a Quantity Surveying background – post contract and commercial experience, Degree Qualified / NEC experience / Nuclear experience.

 

Duties:

  • Provide a full range of Quantity Surveying duties from project inception through to completion, working both as part of a team and individually.
  • Prepare cost plans, estimates, bills of quantities, tender documents, and supply chain payment assessment.
  • Provide construction phase contract Quantity Surveying services including change management, contractor payment applications, final accounts.
  • Prepare data and reports to timescales in a format required by line management and clients.
  • Work collaboratively with other service teams to provide an integrated approach to client delivery.
  • Develop client relationships and provide an outstanding level of service delivery on a project basis, in conjunction with senior management.

Key Skills:

  • BSc in Quantity Surveying.
  • Nuclear experience
  • Conversant in pre and post contract quantity surveying duties.
  • NEC contract experience.
  • Understanding of applicable methods of measurement.
  • Ability to work with the minimum of supervision and on own initiative.
  • Ability to communicate at all levels.
