Job Title: Senior Flight Systems Engineer
Location: Warton or Brough or Filton (Onsite requirement 2-3 days per week)
Contract Type: Permanent
Important: This role requires suitable applicants to be eligible for SC clearance. Also, you must be willing to travel (on a hybrid basis) to either Warton or Brough (or willing to relocate). Please apply only if you are eligible for SC clearance and either location works for you!
What You’ll Be Doing:
- Producing and delivering Flight Systems engineering data that aligns with project needs, ensuring adherence to standards, cost control, and timelines.
- Collaborating with other engineering disciplines and project teams to develop effective engineering solutions.
- Carrying out tasks based on the project life-cycle, including requirements development, system and equipment design, modeling, integration, qualification, certification, and testing.
- Preparing technical documentation such as specifications, reports, and proposals.
Essential Skills:
- Degree/HND or equivalent experience in a relevant STEM field
- Strong understanding of the systems engineering life-cycle, with a proven ability to apply best practices.
- Hands-on experience in mechanical, electrical, or fluid systems engineering, preferably in aerospace or other technology-driven industries.
Desirable Skills:
- Knowledge in areas such as electrical power generation/distribution, thermal management, environmental control, flying controls, hydraulics, landing gear, fuel systems, crew systems, propulsion integration, or systems health management.
- Experience with model-based systems engineering, tools, and techniques.
- Proficiency in vehicle control system design, modeling, and simulation of both classical and advanced control systems.
- Previous involvement in the design, development, and support of flight systems products.
- Familiarity with system modeling and simulation tools.
