Job Details
My client works within the Defence industry is looking for a Head of Manufacturing. The candidate will establish, lead and manage the manufacturing processes. Encompassing Manufacturing Engineering, Production, Repair & Overhaul and leadership of associated value streams, the role ensures new products are introduced to production effectively, technology transfer projects are executed with a focus on successful production ramp-up and production activities are managed with a focus on quality, cost, delivery and safety. The role shall ensure activities are documented and executed in accordance with regulatory requirements whilst fostering an ethos of continuous improvement and innovation.
Due to the environment we are looking for candidates who have current SC clearance or able to obtain this level of clearance.
We are also looking for candidates to work 4 days a week from the Bristol site.
What you will be doing:
- Provide leadership and management oversight to the manufacturing department.
- Lead the development, implementation and documentation of manufacturing strategies, policies, processes and procedures.
- Build, mentor, and develop a high-performing team across manufacturing engineering, production, repair and overhaul, and value stream management.
- Lead the Manufacturing Engineering team.
- Develop the operational concepts and model for the Manufacturing Engineering organisation in line with all relevant standards.
- Oversee the design, implementation, and optimization of manufacturing processes.
- Lead new product introductions and technology transfers within the production environment.
- Collaborate with product development teams, locally and internationally, to ensure manufacturability of new products.
- Lead the Production team, providing management oversight for new build & in-service support activities.
- Establish the Production & In-Service Support way of working, policy and process infrastructure.
- Manage daily production operations to meet production schedules and targets whilst ensuring compliance with safety, quality, and regulatory standards.
- Manage and optimise resource utilisation.
- Provide Value Stream leadership to ensure materials and information are available to achieve production schedules.
- Establish, manage and optimize value stream activities to enhance product flow and reduce waste.
- Manage performance to ensure the achievement of key operational and financial objectives.
- Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and implement corrective actions as needed.
- Develop and manage the manufacturing budget, ensuring cost control and financial performance.
- Foster a culture of continuous improvement and innovation within the manufacturing department.
- Lead initiatives to improve manufacturing processes, improve on-time delivery performance and enhance product quality.
