Requirements Engineer – Management & Systems Architecture

Our client, a large government customer, are seeking a Requirements Engineer – Management & Systems Architecture to join their team. The role is based in Corsham but there will be opportunity for flexible working. The role requires DV clearance and candidates must be sole UK nationals.

Requirements are scheduled to run for 220 days from contract initiation and offer a rate up to £710/day

IR35 STATUS: Inside IR35. Our client has indicated that they intend to operate the engagement as Inside IR35. Candidates would be required to operate through an umbrella company on this engagement. The rates above represent rate payable to the umbrella co.

Main Responsibilities

•       Delivery and maintenance of an end-to-end architecture. The intent is to develop a product at the appropriate classification.
•       Work with, and across, operational stakeholders to develop a business model that identifies an agreed set of operational services that will form the framework for systems level analysis.
•       Develop a view of technical system interdependencies that can expose technical incoherence and support the identification of operational risk.
•       Derived from systems analysis, inform technical delivery choices across mission systems, networks and spectrum activities to improve resilience and shape the technology roadmap. Also inform risk reporting, in time.
•       Engage with the Technical Design Authority to ensure that business analysis and architecture in the tier is coherent with wider executive model development.
•       Articulate technical coherence choices and operational risks in support of capability audits and through the enterprise Capability Integration Group (CIG).

Essential Skills and Experience

•       Experience of business analysis and information service development across complex enterprises.
•       Knowledge of the Sparx modelling application.
•       The ability to conduct business assessments technical system interdependencies to inform coherence and risk identification.
•       Ensure that the correct processes, procedures and governance of information security are followed at the relevant classification.
•       Can evolve and define governance, taking responsibility for collaborating and supporting a broad range of stakeholders.
•       Can identify stakeholders and establish a good engagement environment (Working Groups, Meetings, 1-2-1s).
•       Experience of producing and informing technical roadmaps.
•       Apply strategy, using patterns, standards, policies, roadmaps and vision statements and able to challenge them and provide guidance.
•       Understand trends and practices outside the team and how these will impact the work, as well as how their work fits into the broader strategy.

Desirable Skills and Experience

•       Operational experience of outputs in the Maritime and Air communities.
•       Familiarity with JSP 604, JSP 440 and other relevant publications, guidance and policy.
•       Experience and understanding of interoperability services between our systems and those of other government departments and international partners.

Other Information

•       Cleared to DV and a sole UK national.
•       Based at Corsham; however, there will be opportunity for flexible working.
•       Occasional travel to other sites will be required.
