Would you like to pay a key role in delivering software applications to assist in the development of
the next generation combat systems? We currently have an opportunity for a Software Developer at
our site in either Frimley, Weymouth or Filton.


As a Software Developer, you will be working with dedicated engineering teams to develop the next
generation combat systems, working closely with multiple project stakeholders to define, detail,
design and develop appropriate infrastructure service solutions to meet our customer’s needs.


This role will be feeding into the development of the Core Infrastructure, providing a diverse set of
software solutions needed to support the operational requirements of the complex system
applications. The Core Infrastructure product will be delivered and maintained using agile and lean
practices with a 'continuous integration, continuous delivery' development approach.


This role will provide you with the opportunity to work on a high profile project within the BAE
Systems business, which could lead to future development opportunities within the team or the wider
business.


Your main responsibilities as a Software Developer will involve:
 Software design and development including re-use and design patterns
 Real-time framework technologies covering middleware, messaging/communications and
networking
 UX/UI Development
 Data analysis and database capabilities
 Continuous integration testing, test automation methods and tools including performance
analysis
 Full Lifecycle Development using the Scrum framework and Agile development methodologies
 Working with integrated development environments

Essential Skills, Knowledge and Capabilities:
 Experienced in .NET/Core, C#
 Relational databases (MySQL) on Windows/Linux platforms
 Full Lifecycle Development using Visual Studio
 Atlassian Jira, Confluence, Bitbucket and GIT
 Data analysis, algorithms and visualisation tools/techniques
 Interfacing, APIs and networking protocols (TCP/UDP)

Desirable Skills, Knowledge and Capabilities:
 Knowledge of WPF, C/C++, Java,
 Service development
 Virtualised environments (VMware)
 Awareness of Maritime Combat Systems
 Developing to high standards of technical assurance and quality
