Project Manager (Inside IR35)

 

Contract Term: 6 Months (Possibility of extension)

 

Contracting Authority: MoD

 

Location: Hybrid & London (1 -3 days a week in office, the rest WFH)

As a Project Manager, your main responsibilities would be: 

 

Duties:

 

  • Work as part of the programme team and be key to the delivery of the required outcomes, supporting the DARR AH Programme Manager in order to achieve them; As directed by the DARR AH Programme Manager, support the establishment of effective programme governance for DARR, including secretariat support for the senior Steering Group chaired by the COO and the Programme Board chaired by the SRO, Director DARR, as well as associated supporting governance, management and reporting activities; Provide leadership, engaging with internal and external stakeholders and negotiating key outcomes to support delivery, and maintain positive working relationships with key stakeholder; Leading project delivery activities through overall management, co-ordination and direction of both internal and external resources; Provide secretariat support for programme governance, including setting up meetings, updating agendas, producing minutes and tracking delivery of actions; Identify and supervise the management of project management risks, issues and opportunities to improve the deliverability, reporting and escalating these as required to the DARR Programme Risk Register. Have responsibility for establishing, managing and updating the programme plan through specialist software (Microsoft Project); Support and champion best practice across DARR on the adoption and use of use programme disciplines and the most effective management of DARR risks; Develop Business Cases to justify and seek approval for planned project delivery solutions as required; A commitment to self-development and that of your team to reach full potential; Proactively working with your team to identify any continues improvement initiatives; In the absence of the DARR SEO Business Change Manager, as required by DARR AH Programme Manager, assume responsibility for their responsibilities.

  • Have excellent project management and strategic thinking skills
  • Be confident and credible with senior stakeholders
  • Be able to work at pace, bringing strong personal resilience to a busy, high-profile portfolio
  • Have strong interpersonal and influencing skills, with the ability to work collaboratively around the Department, across Whitehall and with colleagues overseas
  • Have the drive to take ownership of delivering progress at pace against a challenging set of objectives
  • Have the ability to use sound judgement, evidence, and knowledge to provide accurate, expert, and actionable advice
  • Have the ability to lead and inspire peers and team members through strong communication skills, positive behaviours, and clear strategic direction.
  • Have excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Project management qualifications such as Prince2, AgilePM, Project Management Qualification, Managing Successful Programmes or Defence P3M.
