LEAD LINUX ENGINEER

• SC cleared to start - eligible for DV clearance
• Globally leading defence / cyber security company
• £60k - £85k DoE - plus benefits and bonuses
• Cheltenham location – hybrid working model
• Experience in Linux/Unix based systems, IaC, DevOps tools, IPv4, Containerisation

WHO ARE WE?

We are recruiting a Lead Linux Engineer to work with a multi-national, industry-leading cyber security/defence company in Cheltenham. Our teams are what drive us forward in our mission to make the UK as safe as possible. Therefore, we are looking for the best talent to join the team. Due to the nature of our clients, you must hold SC clearance.

WHAT WILL THE LEAD LINUX ENGINEER BE DOING?

The job involves designing, building, and maintaining mission-critical systems, administering Linux-based systems, databases, and applications, troubleshooting IP networking systems, and automating system deployment and maintenance using Infrastructure as Code and Configuration Management tooling. You’ll also be continuously expanding your skills and relevant certifications.

WE NEED THE LEAD LINUX ENGINEER TO HAVE….

• Active SC clearance - eligible for DV
• Experience in designing, deploying and supporting Linux based solutions using containerisation, IaC and DevOps tools
• Experience in Stakeholder engagement
• Experience in automating tasks (using either Ansible, Bash, PowerShell, or Python)
• Experience with containers (Docker or VMWare)
• Experience configuring routers and firewalls
