About the role
We???re looking for you to deliver pragmatic HR solutions to the station management team, leading on the change programmes as we move into the period of defueling our power station. You???ll be managing the implementation of intelligent people-related plans to deliver sustainable, excellent performance by ensuring adequate numbers of trained, competent, motivated and engaged personnel.
Your excellent communication and relationship management skills will be pivotal in the liaison across the station and the central support functions to ensure our HR provision effectively supports the station???s business plans and objectives. We have a multidiscipline workforce on the station and your experience in dealing with a range of employee demographics will be essential.


Day to day duties
As our Human Resources Manager, you???ll deliver and lead in the following areas:
 
    Reward ??? working with the central reward team to ensure fair application of the strategy and managing the local review process to support line managers apply a fair approach Resourcing and Talent Planning ??? supporting the management team with the plans and implementation of learning and development, recruitment and succession planning to ensure there is resilience across the station, as well as strategies in place to ensure the development and progression of the station team Employee Relations ??? liaising with representatives from trade unions, central support and leadership teams to ensure a positive and proactive ER climate is maintained, enabling the business to deliver its operational priorities HR Operational Delivery ??? providing the on-site HR team with the resources to provide an excellent level of service and ensuring senior management support as required.

This is of course not an exhaustive list and your flexibility, resilience and aptitude for change will be key to your success in this position.

Skills, qualities and qualifications
    You should have a proven ability to deliver high quality HR generalist support, including strong knowledge of employment law and HR best practice. Ideally you will have a manufacturing or industrial background where you have worked with a multidisciplined workforce. Experience working with trade unions is really important and it would be good to see you demonstrate previous involvement or leadership in change management. The ability to work effectively within a matrix managed organisation. Strong communication and Stakeholder Management skills are also key. You???ll need to be comfortable in complex environments and able to move effortlessly between strategic topics and day to day HR activities, with a strong commercial acumen alongside. You should be able to demonstrate a strong professional network and continuous personal development ??? this would mean being a Chartered member/Chartered Fellow of CIPD or equivalent experience. A postgraduate qualification in HR would be an advantage.
