This role is to support the sustainment of the SS3 and CRISP base inventory systems daily routines, print operations and preparing print for distribution. This involves close working with the SS3 and CRISP application layer support teams based in both Bristol and Milton Keynes.
The primary list of activities include:
The service support is Monday to Friday (excluding Bank Holidays)

This role is to support the sustainment of the SS3 and CRISP base inventory systems daily routines, print operations and preparing print for distribution. This involves close working with the SS3 and CRISP application layer support teams based in both Bristol and Milton Keynes.
The primary list of activities include:
- Running the printing jobs, sorting the output and preparing for postal distribution.
- Knowledge of the systems cronjobs
- Knowledge of SPOOLQ software,
- Ability to activate print jobs, using suite of high volume and impact printers (forms and labels)
- Ability to use envelope filling machine.
- Manage the consumables to keep the print operation functions flowing with no loss of service.
- Be able to plan and manage demand and supply of printer consumables such as forms, paper, envelopes, toners, printer ribbons, etc
- Be account holder for ordering consumables, supplier management, team working.
- Report (raise incidents) with 3rd party support company issues with the printer suite and manage onsite maintenance and resolution of such incidents.
- Knowledge of supplier management and incident management, team working.
- Electronic (usually email) distribution of ad hoc data files to customers (to reduce print and courier costs) where their business can cater for electronic receipt.
- Business process knowledge, stakeholder relationship, data extraction (running and editing standard scripts.)
The service support is Monday to Friday (excluding Bank Holidays)
Required Education and Experience
Essential
- Ability to remain calm under pressure or through demanding challenges
- Physically in good health for the movement of print paper/envelope/forms boxes
- Effective written and verbal communication skills
Desirable
- Previous experience in a Print Operations Service organisation
- Experience of managing software application implementation and sustainment
- Experience and understanding of stakeholder structure
