Assistant Project Manager (Inside IR35)

 

Contract Term: Two-year contract from the start date (24 months)

 

Contracting Authority: The Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office

 

Location: Hybrid ( 2- 3 days in office) Office can either be London or Milton Keynes

As an Assistant Project Manager, your main responsibilities would be: 

 

  • To support a number of Project Directors with the planning and coordination of projects, take on administrative duties and independently manage some of the necessary work elements.   You will work with various teams and stakeholders to monitor project progress and provide oversight to ensure projects are completed on time and budget and deliver the agreed specification. Contributing to the planning and development of projects. Communicating with stakeholders regarding project needs and goals. Keeping track of project progress: delivery of benefits within the time, cost and quality parameters. Completing tasks assigned by the Project Director. These will include: developing some of the project management documentation, for example an Invitation to Tender document to secure professional services providers; the resolution of a specific risk or issue; and the monitoring of spend against budget. Monitoring the performance of suppliers, for example checking that our professional advisers are providing Project Execution Plans and regularly updating programmes, reports, risk registers, PEP etc. Overseeing the project finances including the raising of Purchase Orders and processing invoices for payment. Supporting co-ordination of visits to overseas Posts ensuring clear itineraries agreed and all necessary arrangements have been made. Performing administrative tasks such as project filing (MS Teams), scheduling meetings, etc. Performing other duties assigned by the Project Director in an efficient and timely manner.

 

 

 

 

You’ll have relevant experience in:

 

 

 

  • Please note that, due to the nature of this requirement, active SC Clearance is a pre-requisite and application without cannot be considered.
  • Experience of working successfully within a team environment supporting delivery goals ideally in a building programme/project-based environment. Highly organised and able to multitask and oversee several projects simultaneously. Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills. Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written. Excellent IT skills, including Word, Excel and PowerPoint. Experience of organising meetings, events or other activities. Flexible approach to work, with a keenness to adapt to meet changing work requirements. A positive, “can do” attitude. Relevant training and/or certifications as an Assistant Project Director/Manager.

The following is also desirable:

 

  • A relevant professional or technical qualification (e.g. building surveyor, quantity surveying, building engineering)
