Contract Term: Two-year contract from start date (24 months)

 

Contracting Authority: The Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office

 

Location: Hybrid / London ( 2-3 days a week in London office)

As a Programme Support Officer, your main responsibilities would be: 

 

  • To facilitate the smooth running of the programme of work by supporting the Head of Project Delivery through the operation of programme management processes and the co-ordination of business management actions and activities. 

 

 

  • To ultimately assist the Project Delivery Team to deliver efficiently and effectively and to drive continuous improvement.

 

 

  • Maintain an oversight of the project portfolio and provide management information on all estates projects in delivery.  You will be the key interface with the ESND Programme Management Office (PMO) to ensure that the Project Delivery Team is providing high quality project data and that the PMO is developing and delivering the key programme controls: progress reports, risk and issues log, pipelines of work for partners and suppliers, pipelines of approvals for Governance Boards etc – the ESND PMO is in the early stages of development so much of our data collection is still by manual entry.

 

 

  • Develop key messages for the programme so that we can celebrate success.

 

 

  • Organise regular meetings, workshops and training for the Project Delivery Team, record actions and drive progress against these actions.

 

 

  • Support communication and engagement with key delivery partners across FCDO (Security, Information and Digital and Commercial)

 

 

  • Support communication and engagement with our supply chain – we maintain relationships at a senior level with major multi-billion-pound professional advisory firms and construction firms by organising regular workshops/meetings, providing pipelines of work, collating and analysing feedback, recording actions and driving progress against these actions.

 

 

  • Oversee development of process, template and guidance documents.

 

 

  • Monitor programme spend. You will interface with the Finance Team to ensure that we are clearly tracking spend.

 

 

  • Manage the programme risk and issues log.

 

 

  • Assist with benefits tracking.

 

 

  • Undertake administrative activities including file management and version control and support new joiner inductions

 

 

 

 

You’ll have relevant experience in:

  • Somebody who loves data and engaging with people! Experience of working successfully within a team environment supporting delivery goals ideally in a building programme/project-based environment Excellent IT skills, including Word, Excel and PowerPoint with the ability quickly to learn new packages as required – Intermediate Excel skills are a must to enable you to collate data and develop reports. Experience of organising meetings, events or other activities. Excellent written skills, with the ability to accurately summarise and convey information. Excellent interpersonal skills. Excellent organisational skills. Flexible approach to work, with a keenness to adapt to meet changing work requirements A positive, “can do” attitude
