Systems Engineer (Hardware Background) - 12 Month Contract - Outside IR35

Martin & Conley are looking for experienced Systems Engineers for a 12-month rolling contract based in/ or willing to travel to offices in Cheadle, England. 3-4 days in the office, 1-2 days wfh.

This position is in the UK Defence sector, therefore only UK-born nationals can apply and you must be able to secure Security Clearance.

You must have prior experience working as a Systems Engineer in the Defense industry.

Skills

Essential:

• An ability to work collaboratively within a team environment and demonstrate: Good interpersonal skills, Good communication and presentation skills, Proactive “can-do” mentality, Logical problem-solving approaches. Ability to understand and implement Product Line Engineering strategies Ability to technically lead design and development activities, interfacing with other technical disciplines as required. The holder of the role must be able to demonstrate knowledge of the following: Systems Engineering Toolsets, Practices and Lifecycles, Good all-round technical knowledge Networking Knowledge / Project Engineering background, Experience in designing IP based Networks, Network security knowledge, Linux experience (command line/scripting), A logical approach to problem-solving is required.

Desirable:

• Hardware design and development, TCP/IP, UDP, and Multicast Knowledge, DOORS knowledge, Cisco accreditation or equivalent.

Experience:

Essential

• Strong demonstrated relevant experience or experience that can be applied to Network Architecture Full Lifecycle experience (Capture, Design, Implementation, Test)

Desirable

• Understanding of Naval platforms. The key areas of design undertaken for which previous experience would be beneficial will include: - The design for harsh environmental environments Product based engineering.
