Linux Architect

Our client are a top tier consultancy looking for a Linux Architect on a 12 months contract.

Job Spec: 
● Demonstrated hands-on experience in Linux solution design and implementation
● Expertise in Linux architecture, and Linux security models
● Linux directory service design (LDAP, NIS etc.)
● Clear understanding of Linux permissions models, and how they interact with windows
permissions models under shared storage situations.
● Understanding of how Linux solutions fit into the broader IT ecosystem, including integration of
authentication, and directory services with other platforms.
● Ability to identify likely performance bottlenecks within a proposed design, and to propose
scalable solutions to mitigate this.
● Ability to communicate clearly, accurately and succinctly, both verbally, and via documentation.
● An ability to analyse a new demand, identify both hard requirements, and desirable features, and
then to propose a solution which best fits with the existing IT ecosystem.
● Scripting experience (python/perl/bash...)
● Experience using code revision control tools (e.g. Git/SVN/Bitbucket)
● Experience with orchestration tools (e.g. Ansible)
● Experience with linux filesystems and volume management solutions.
● Linux Security, including considerations for OS Hardening
● RHEL Administration (RHEL7 essential, RHEL8 desirable)
● Experience supporting and tuning Linux systems to provide database solutions.
● A solid understanding of TCP/IP networking, and firewall concepts.
