Job Description
At Boeing, we innovate and collaborate to make the world a better place. From the seabed to outer space, you can contribute to work that matters with a company where diversity, equity and inclusion are shared values. We're committed to fostering an environment for every teammate that's welcoming, respectful and inclusive, with great opportunity for professional growth. Find your future with us.
Boeing is the world's largest aerospace company and leading manufacturer of commercial airplanes and defense, space and security systems. We are engineers and technicians. Skilled scientists and thinkers. Bold innovators and dreamers. Join us, and you can build something better for yourself, for our customers and for the world.
The Boeing Field Services Team at Brize Norton is a vital part of the support that we provide the Royal Air Force Customer. We have a Team of 100 employees who work directly for and with the C-17 operational team, providing real-time, time critical and dynamic assistance at the point of delivery. This is a Team at the vanguard, and we are offering an opportunity to join that Team to you.
In this Role:
You will be part of the larger Boeing Team but specifically work with 2 other data management team colleagues where your primary role will be the verification of customer logistics data management records. These records come directly from the technicians who maintain and resolve the C-17 and they are essential to the continued airworthiness of the fleet and support the aircraft, regarded as the primary strategic airlifter in Royal Air Force service.
You will use these maintenance records, in concert with your Field Services engineering colleagues, to help the customers to resolve routine problems regarding data accuracy and data integrity. Routinely you will transcribe this data into secure and controlled data systems, such as the US Air Force G081 system, C-17 Standard Flight Data Recorder, and C-17 Engine Optical Quick Access Recorder repositories. This data is a vital component is support of the wider C-17 fleet, not just the UK, and directly informs the upgrade path for future modifications.
In addition, you will be responsible for ensuring data quality, maintaining process records and files, keeping accountability records and making a final disposition of data, records and files.
While this role works with technical data you do not need a background in aircraft, aviation or maintenance data - we will train you on all that you need to know. A good working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, together with good typing and digital literacy would be a real bonus to your ability to fulfill this role. Formal training on Microsoft Office applications is highly desirable, as is formal training and experience with logistics data systems. Ideal candidates will have a basic knowledge of information and data retrieval systems. The ability to enter, edit, and retrieve information in database systems is also important.
Ideally you should also have previous experience working in an office environment where flexibility is essential and prompt responses to ad-hoc customer requests is expected. You must have good communication skills, both written and oral, and have experience working with minimal supervision. You will be the 'face of Boeing' to the customer maintenance teams and planning functions, so it is vital that you are comfortable in this type of position.
Position Requirements:
Work Authorisation: This requisition is for an international locally hired position. Aside from US citizenship, the candidates must also have legal right to work in the UK. Boeing will not attempt to obtain Immigration and labour sponsorship for any applicants. Benefits and pay are determined at the local level and are not part of Boeing U.S. based payroll.
Relocation: This position does not offer relocation. Candidates must live in the immediate area or relocate at their own expense.
Other Job related information: This is a full-time role offering employment for 37.5 hours per week on a Mon-Fri basis. The role will be based in Brize Norton, Oxfordshire. The role isnot suitable for hybrid working.
