Introduction:
Boeing Defence UK (BDUK) is a subsidiary of the Boeing Company and currently employs over 1,400 people in the UK. We are responsible for delivering several exciting contracts to our UK defence customers including new capabilities like the E-7 AEW&C and the P-8A Maritime Patrol Aircraft, Autonomous Systems, C4ISR Services, Support for the Chinook & Apache Fleets, Logistic Information Services and Training Services and are very much in a growth phase.

The Role:
As part of the delivery of the UK MOD AH-64E Apache Attack Helicopter Long Term Training and Support Service (LTTSS) contract, BDUK has a Product Services Team, this position will be part of that team. It is expected that the candidate may be required to support the wider BDUK portfolio to meet emergent needs on an occasional basis.
Boeing Defence UK is looking for a Technical Publications Development Specialist who will report to the Support Engineering Team and site manager in Almondbank, Scotland. Ideally the candidate will be Yeovil (Somerset) Based.
Responsibilities:
The individual will be required to monitor, progress and support customer requirements for publications updates to the UK AH64E Air Vehicle Document Set. Additionally, the post will provide investigation and resolution of discrepancies or issues related to contract deliverables as part of the UK AH64E sustainment activities.
The job role will encompass supporting the Publications Lead in the day to day management of the UK AH64E publications deliverables to meet contract requirements including; distribution, tracking and reporting activities associated with publication discrepancy reports (MoD F765), compilation and configuration management of contract deliverables, generation of amendments and updates to the UK AH64E Aircraft Document Set.
Research subject matter as appropriate to create and verify accurate and usable content with a focus on first time quality. The successful candidate will support the Publications Lead for Integrity Working Group and program meetings (as required).
Generate and maintain publications processes /plans and archive data files to ensure that records are current, available and comply with quality management system requirements. This forward facing post will interface between the customer and other key stakeholders, good communication skills are essential.
This post requires a solid understanding of the MoD Unsatisfactory Feature Reporting process (MoD F765), aircraft and component maintenance procedures, specifications and standards ideally with knowledge of the United Kingdom Ministry of Defence and associated Regulatory Articles (RA's) underpinning publications activities or equivalent aerospace industry standards . The post will also require the individual to demonstrate ability for multi-tasking in a diverse teaming environment. Rotary wing experience is highly desirable and occasional travel may be required.

Experience Required:
Ideally you will be educated to degree level in a relevant Engineering subject and 5 to 10 years of related experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Essential to be able to to obtain UK SC security clearance.

- Prior Authoring experience in AS1000D and or AVP70.
- Application of Simplified Technical English.
- A Thorough understanding of Support Engineering in the Military environment.
- An understanding of the derivation and creation of Support Product documentation.
- Ability to work with the cross functional business stakeholders to identify optimisation. opportunities through application of LEAN principles.
- Proven ability to drive first time quality.
