Boeing Defence UK (BDUK) is looking for a Lead Operations Analyst to backfill after the departure of the current incumbent to BDUK Systems Engineering. The Lead Analyst will be required to have a broad understanding of UK Defence and Defence acquisition and support methodologies, experience in the delivery of focussed, robust and analytical modelling and experimentation with skills that are associated with Quality Assurance and ISO9001 adherence. With a range of near-term contracts and a sales pipeline of new opportunities, this role will cover a wide portfolio of operations research tasks which include problem solution development and generation of impartial, robust and analysis products.
The Lead Analyst will take a strong lead in the development of appropriate models and simulations through to delivery of experimentation and subsequent analysis of UK Defence and government agencies. Additionally, they will provide mentoring to the wider analysis community, reaching out to other elements of UK and International Boeing as well as active engagements with the wider matrixed functions and organizations. The successful candidate will also be expected to be a strong briefer to senior level and interface with external customers where appropriate, to ensure alignment during the analytical and development phases.

Responsibilities:
- Provision of leadership and management of development of operations research and integrated experimentation and campaign planning for delivery of evidence-based analysis, supporting understanding of the Defence and wider security domains.
- Provision of leadership to assure the delivery of high standards of mathematical operations research activities in support of Ad Hoc projects that arise in the execution of BDUK's current portfolio.
- Support to the wider business by bringing niche experiences of the defence domain to the Boeing Company operating in the UK.
- Through personal experience and commitment and utilizing self-driven experimentation and analysis skills - they will support risk identification/mitigation and negotiation for R&D, advanced product development and follow-on business.
- Interfacing with the customer as appropriate during all task phases to understand constraints and requirements that help shape the BDUK offering.
- Leading the Quality Assurance aspects of the Strategic Experimentation and Analysis (Strat E&A) Team.
- As required, will deputise for the Senior Manager Strat E&A in their absence to ensure continual smooth running of the facility and capability.
Required Qualifications
- Background in the Defence domain and capability gap analysis, the candidate should have a first-hand knowledge of the UK Defence domain ideally through military service or relevant civil service or industry experience. It is desirable that the candidate also have advanced business acumen and some commercial knowledge to support the required Business Case Analysis.
- Strong business partnering skills and commercial awareness are required. Demonstrable skills should also include a mathematical background, experience in modelling and simulation of Defence systems-of systems, written and verbal communication, problem solving, team building, customer awareness and partnering, working in an international environment, experience of large scale programs and business case generation.
- Ideally, the candidate should have a military background from service and be qualified to degree level or equivalent in mathematics, computer science or an equivalent domain-related qualification. The successful candidate will from a multi-disciplinary background with a proven track record of having demonstrated the key competencies listed above.
