A new opportunity for an application developer has arisen. Primarily with technical experience of development using Fuse, Java on the OpenShift platform. Ideally with full software life cycle experience. The successful candidate will be involved in the design, development, testing, implementation and support of associated components.
They must be comfortable interacting with colleagues at all levels within the organization and be confident representing BDUK and teaming with the MOD and government partners.
The individual will also perform analysis and resolve application performance issues in coordination with customers and other developers. Documenting processes and procedures and ensuring compliance with Boeing practices. The candidate will perform application deployments, upgrades and ongoing support.
The position requires cross team coordination with tightly coupled development and architecture, infrastructure support teams, key suppliers, and other Boeing programs applying the same technologies.
The candidate must be willing to pick up additional responsibilities as the need arises. They must have a hard-working and hands on approach and possess excellent written and verbal communication skills. The role may require travel within the UK. Training available for the right candidate.

Provides technical solutions to complex problems that require resourcefulness and creativity. Exercises considerable latitude in resolving technical objectives of assignment. Guides the successful completion of the technical delivery aspects of major programs and may function in a project leadership role.

- Hands on experience developing JBOSS FUSE Java applications, with Spring Boot and Camel integration.
- Databases, with hands-on SQL
Desirable experience:
- OpenShift or other Kubernetes based platforms.
- Automation and Ansible
- UNIX scripting
- PL-SQL coding
- DevOps or Agile
- Jenkins or similar CI/CD tools,
- Version control system like Git
- Working within the Defence sector would be a significant advantage.
