The Astute Programme area of the business is responsible for the safe delivery of all the Astute Submarine projects at Devonport to time, cost and the quality standards required. This includes the planning for the first Astute submarine arrivals and will lead into the execution of maintenance on these platforms. A capability led approach will help ensure Babcock and the site are ready to support and deliver the upkeep requirements across key defence lines of development including resourcing, training, equipment, infrastructure, information, and interoperability. This role is an exciting and an important positon for Submarines, the other key business units at Devonport and for our customer, the Submarine Delivery Agency.

Who we are looking for?
We are looking for a driven individual to manage the integration of all the Infrastructure projects and teams relating to Astute submarine capability at Devonport as its developed and delivered. This is a key position in the Astute programme team and across Devonport and the expectation is that this role will help create the right environment and culture for the delivery of infrastructure that is both safe and fit for purpose.

What will you be doing?

  • Communicate with teams to understand scope and timeline of projects
  • Interpret and communicate challenges to stakeholders
  • Schedule mapping to target maintenance dates
  • Communicate back to the teams to see if they can expedite the process when needed
  • Suggest solutions to challenges

The experience you'll bring
  • Experience of typical engineering and / or construction project lifecycles
  • Experience of the operations, refit or repair of submarines / surface ships desirable.
  • Strong communicator both verbally and written
  • Stakeholder engagement experience
  • Degree or HNC or equivalent experience

You will need to satisfy security requirements. This may require you to hold or be eligible/capable of achieving 'Security Check' (SC) clearance.
