Devonport: The Administration Apprenticeship is based at Devonport Royal Dockyard in Plymouth.

Comprising of 14 dry docks, four miles of waterfront and 25 tidal berths, Devonport is the base for numerous surface vessels as well as the base and refit centre for the Trafalgar-class nuclear-powered submarines. Devonport has also recently been selected as the base port for the Navy's new Type 26 frigates and will become the maintenance centre for the future submarine programme.

We help customers in the UK and around the world to improve the capability, reliability and availability of their most critical assets within the four market sectors of Marine, Land, Aviation, and Nuclear, underpinned by a deep understanding of technology integration, unique infrastructure and specialist training.

Administration Apprentice:
Our 24-month apprenticeship programme will enable you to develop a range of highly transferable administration tasks and skills including:
› Collating and preparing reports
› Administer travel requests both UK and International
› Facilitate meetings to include agenda preparation, typing and distribution of minutes and sourcing a venue
› Diary management up to Director level
› Provide all general administrative support within a department as required

At the end of your apprenticeship potential career opportunities include Personal Assistant, Document Controller, Project Administrator and Secretarial roles.

For those of you who are looking to take your career further our well established administration apprenticeship could take you anywhere in the business; some of our apprentices are now in high flying positions such as Business Change Manager, Supply Chain Development Manager and Communications Business Partner.

Possible placements :
During your first year you will complete three placements lasting four months each in various areas of the business to gain real life work experience whilst completing your qualification. Your second year will see you embark on a 12-month placement to expand your skills and define your career path.

Qualification you'll get:
Level 2 Customer Service Practitioner

What you'll need:
GCSE grade C or equivalent in Maths and English
The ability to gain SC clearance
