Job Description:
The Quality Technician position provides support to various facets of the Quality function to include inspection, supplier quality, quality engineering, calibration and continuous improvement.
Essential Functions:
- Assist in identifying areas for quality control improvement and implementing new methods accordingly.
- Collaborate with quality/manufacturing/engineering in developing inspection requirements and techniques and implementing quality plans.
- Evaluate defect data to identify trends and collaborate with quality engineers to make recommendations on process improvements.
- Ensure safety, reliability and hardware traceability for end-item systems and mission solutions through production quality oversight.
- Evaluation of data and drafting reports, noting any relevant deviations from existing standards.
- Along with Supplier and Quality Engineers, routinely interfaces with customer representatives.
- May participate as a member within Material Review Board (MRB)
- Assist in defect and non-conformance tracking and evaluation process, including root cause analysis, quality investigations and trend evaluation to reduce recurrences.
- Assist in generating Corrective Action Requests (CARs) for vendor quality rejections.
- Assist in the implementation of ISO 9001/AS9100, and Procedure Development.
- Assist in coordination of failure analysis efforts.
- Perform auditing, surveillance and monitoring.
- Participate and lead continuous improvement efforts
- Provide baseline quality data to support daily and/or weekly yield reviews.
- Provide first-level triage and positive interactions with production operators and cross-functional support personnel.
- Provide support in maintaining QMS process, procedures and related command media.
- Conduct special studies as required by departmental supervisor, submitting reports and recommendations for corrective action.
- Communicate quality or compliance concerns with urgency
- Promote cordial relationships and foster and maintain a favorable business profile with customers, suppliers, co-workers, industry and professional associations, government agencies and the local community.
- Requires fully proficient job knowledge/skills.
- Requires a High School Diploma or equivalent and a minimum of 6 years of prior relevant experience or 2 years post-Secondary/Associates Degree with a minimum of 2 years of prior related experience.
- Knowledge and/or experience with CCAs, mechanical assemblies and acceptance testing
- Excellent communication, technical writing and presentation skills
- Knowledge of and/or understanding circuit analysis and operational concepts
- Familiarity with various MS office platforms (Word, Excel, Power Point)
