Job Description:

The environmental test technician performs environmental tests in the environmental test lab. The environmental test technician must be experienced and capable of operating all of the equipment in the environmental test lab(vibration system/temp chambers/altitude/humidity). The environmental test technician must be capable of performing tests in accordance with work instructions, test procedures and standards.

Essential Functions:
  • Test electronic telemetry airborne products for production, conformance, qualification, and engineering.
  • Setup and operate environmental, vibration, and electronic test equipment.
  • Support multiple simultaneous tests.
  • Independently evaluate products tested.
  • Record and compile environmental test data.
  • Ensure calibration is current on equipment when used.
  • Work closely with engineering on new products, test fixtures and procedures
  • Candidates must be capable of set up and operation of equipment such as Vibration systems, Thermal Cycling and Thermal shock chambers in order to perform highly complex environmental tests regarding temperature, humidity, altitude, thermal shock and vibration.
  • In addition to the set up and operation of a wide variety of test and measurement systems ranging from complex automated test equipment stations to individual test instruments. Be capable of supporting engineering development and qualification efforts independently.
  • Must be able to read and follow written procedures and processes and work with the engineering leadership team to resolve issues.
Qualifications:
  • Requires a High School Diploma or equivalent and a minimum of 6 years of prior relevant experience or 2 years post-Secondary/Associates Degree with a minimum of 2 years of prior related experience.
    • Experience to include environmental testing
Preferred Additional Skills:
  • The ideal candidate would have previous experience directly in an Environmental Test Facility performing vibration and thermal Environmental Stress testing and test development with excellent attention to detail, and familiarity with work instructions and lab procedures.
  • Proficient computer and communication skills and meticulous record keeping are essential.
  • Experience in electronics and test equipment operation is preferred. Familiarity with MIL-STD 810 is beneficial.
  • Ability to multi-task is crucial.
  • Candidates must be able to work independently and with a team to complete tasks. Candidate will work closely with Production Test Technicians to accomplish testing.
