Cybersecurity Risk Technical Lead

​Our client, a large government customer, are seeking a Cybersecurity Risk Technical Lead to join their team. The role is based in Bristol and Corsham with some working from home and travel to other sites. The role requires SC Clearance and candidates must be sole UK nationals.

Requirements are scheduled to run until 31/03/2023 and offer a rate up to £700/day

IR35 STATUS: Inside IR35. Our client has indicated that they intend to operate the engagement as Inside IR35. Candidates would be required to operate through an umbrella company on this engagement. The rates above represent rate payable to the umbrella co.

Overview of the Role

There is a requirement to recruit a Cybersecurity Risk Technical Lead who can help transform how cyber risk is managed at the enterprise level. Your role will be to act as the technical lead for the cyber risk management project, responsible for developing a deep understanding of departmental cyber risk through a structured, repeatable assessment methodology. You will also help to embed new ways of working in the central CRM team and act as a focal point for cybersecurity expertise in the project.

Main Responsibilities

•       To lead the continuing development of the maturity of departmental cyber risk assessment methodology.
•       To lead development of risk models to capture and analyse strategic cyber risk.
•       To be the focal point on the project for cybersecurity and risk management excellence, including conducting quality assurance on all deliverables.
•       To regularly engage with the security and cyber risk SME community to drive increasing integration of standard working practices.
•       To regularly engage with the BAU CRM team to conduct knowledge transfer and upskilling sessions.

Essential Skills and Experience

•       Qualification/certification (e.g. CISM, IRMCert) or equivalent experience in cybersecurity and/or risk management.
•       Strong understanding cybersecurity control frameworks and best practice (especially NIST).
•       Experience with risk assessment and risk management methodologies.
•       Can effectively communicate technical issues to diverse audiences, both in writing and verbally.
•       SC clearance.

Desirable Skills and Experience

•       Experience conducting enterprise risk assessments with complex organisations.
•       Experience applying systems thinking methodologies.

Candidate Eligibility

Candidates must be eligible to work in the UK, this role will not offer Visa sponsorship. Tier 2 – General visas cannot be accepted.
