Role Summary

The Maintenance Technician repairs and maintains assigned manufacturing-related equipment throughout the facility by standard procedures, internal requirements, manufacturer's specifications and safety policies. Performs various skilled workers across multiple functions and operations of the preventive maintenance system.

Job Core Responsibilities

Planned and preventative service and repairs on all Electrical and Mechanical equipment, and provides 1st level fault finding on plant and equipment, initiating repairs.
Install and test safety of new plant and equipment.
Organise and prioritise work schedules to maximise plant and equipment up time, supervising all sub-contractors on site.
Ability to shut down and start up all site equipment in a safe competent manner.
Ensure right first time completion of tasks within the given time schedules.
All documentation and systems are maintained
Compliant with all H&S Regulations, maintaining a safe and effective work area/environment.
Compliance with all machinery safety, permit to works and lock out/tag out practices. Ensuring high level of reporting unsafe conditions/unsafe acts, identifying opportunities for improvements

Generate and implement Continuous Improvements and lean practices which include high level of 6S
Identify and implement cost reduction opportunities
Management of maintenance co-ordinator systems to ensure full scheduling, complete all relevant paperwork / documentation and computer records to required standards

Skills, Knowledge and Abilities

Education: A Secondary Certificate/High School Diploma or equivalent combination of relevant education and work experience will allow successful job expectations performance.
Certifications: Vocational training, apprenticeships or the equivalent experience in a related field
Years' Experience: 5
years in relevant experience
Skills: One of the below Qualifications
  • Level 3 diploma/NVQ standard in either Electrical Technical Services or Electrical Installation
  • Level 3 Diploma in Installing Electro-technical Systems & Equipment (Buildings, Structures and the Environment)
  • Level 3 Diploma in Electrical Installations" (Buildings and Structures) if part of an Apprenticeship.
  • PLUS Extensive Mechanical Experience within an industrial environment
  • Working knowledge of mechanical and electromechanical components and equipment
  • Familiar with reading and interpreting documents, schematics and blueprints
  • Able to recognize and solve typical problems from established operating procedures and scientific methods
  • Experience in operating forklifts and other powered equipment
