Why should you consider progressing your career to join Warwickshire Police on promotion to the rank of Inspector?
Warwickshire Police is going through a significant period of change and our future is exciting but not without challenge. This means that as an Inspector, you will need to provide strong leadership and management in a time of unprecedented change. We need individuals at the Inspector rank, who can instil confidence and trust in their officers, teams, partners and the wider community. If this sounds like you, we look forward to hearing from you!
We’re committed to delivering the very best policing services to prevent crime and protect our communities in Warwickshire. We continue our journey to become an outstanding, independent force, excelling in the areas that are most important to Warwickshire.
We have an exciting future ahead of us as we develop new ways of working and drive sustainable change. Through our Empower operating model changes, we will strengthen local policing to ensure we have people in the right place to enable us to deal with issues in communities before they arise, and secure mutual trust, cooperation and respect. We will invest in our capabilities to prevent crime occurring in the first place, and we will invest in public protection so that we can support the most vulnerable people and protect them from harm.
This ambition can only be achieved through our dedicated and professional workforce, which is why we are growing our police officer numbers to 1,100 – the highest number in our force’s history. We’re looking for people who can evidence an excellent operational track record and ambition to step up to play their part in the future of the force. We want people who show compassion, innovation and integrity at every level.
Whatever your reason for transferring on promotion, Warwickshire Police can offer you a unique, challenging and rewarding career opportunity where you really can make a difference. Offering great staff benefits and career prospects, we have opportunities available for officers currently serving in Home Office forces.

The Selection Process
You will demonstrate that you hold and commit to values and behaviours aligned to ours throughout the selection process.
We have moved on from the board interview being the ultimate success and failure of an officer being promoted as we understand that individuals are different and have different ways of showing their skills.
During the selection process, you will undertake three assessments, and these will be marked by different assessment teams to maximise the fairness of the process and provide you with more opportunities to demonstrate your skills and abilities. This means that if you don’t perform at your best in one exercise, you still have the opportunity to show what you can do in another exercise.
