We are currently looking for Inspectors across the force in various roles, both uniform and detective.

Interviews are anticipated to take place week commencing 2nd January 2023

Eligibility

You must:

• Have no conduct or disciplinary issues outstanding
• Be an officer within a Home Office force

Sergeants and Detective Sergeants will be qualified for promotion to the rank of Inspector if they have:

1. Obtained a pass in the qualifying examination for promotion to the rank of Inspector* and
2. Completed 2 years’ service in the rank of Sergeant 

*Please note that your exam validity must be in date when the results of the promotion board process are announced which is expected to be before the end of January 2023.

The Selection Process

You will demonstrate that you hold and commit to values and behaviours aligned to ours throughout the selection process. 

We have moved on from the board interview being the ultimate success and failure of an officer being promoted as we understand that individuals are different and have different ways of showing their skills. 

During the selection process, you will undertake three assessments, and these will be marked by different assessment teams to maximise the fairness of the process and provide you with more opportunities to demonstrate your skills and abilities. This means that if you don’t perform at your best in one exercise, you still have the opportunity to show what you can do in another exercise.
