We are looking for an enthusiastic Infrastructure Engineer to work in an Agile manner to complete infrastructure related projects with one of Sopra Steria’s most prestigious defence accounts. This role will ensure that projects are delivered accurately within agile principles by collaborating with both operational and business contacts. In addition this role will be responsible for implementing changes to advise and support the IT infrastructure, both physical as well as virtually.

What you'll be doing:

 

  • Deliver projects to and within defined processes, standard methodologies and frameworks, including quality system procedures, and participate in continuous improvement activity, to drive process improvement, elimination of waste, time savings and cost reductions. Implement changes to manage and support the IT infrastructure: compute, storage, physical, virtual & cloud infrastructure, infrastructure software & SaaS services. Support BAU & IT project delivery. . Contribute to / create installation instructions and deployment strategies, including test and validation plans . Liaise with development teams, other territories and 3rd parties supporting the IT infrastructure.

What you’ll bring:

 

  • Experience delivering in any project methodology. Experience applying ITIL methodology. Able to work as part of a small team and be self-motivated. Strong proven experience in your technology specialism in a data centre environment. Knowledge of LAN/WAN principles and technologies. Server (Windows, Linux (or both) as well as VMWare experience.

It would be phenomenal if you had:

 

  • A solid grasp of administration in a virtualised environment. ITIL methodology experience. Messaging (ideally Exchange) exposure.
