Senior Solution Architect
Hybrid - Remote/Solihull Office
Full Time, Permanent. Competitive Salary.


Here at Serco, we are seeking an experienced Senior Solution Architect to support the execution of high complexity, high risk and critical IT Workstreams. You will understand not just the IT needs of the business but also the overall impact of proposed solutions to the profitability of the business.

You will be a specialist in at least one IT area whilst maintaining a vast knowledge of current and emerging IT technologies. Working within the Platform Product Team, you will deliver Applications Services covering Appian, O365, ServiceNow, RPA and Integration.

As part of this you'll:

  • Describe the architecture and design of solutions in sufficient detail for work to be planned and detailed design and delivery to proceed, assuring the delivery work is aligned to the solution design
  • Design technical roadmaps across Digital, Office 365, Service Now and Appian
  • Liaise with business representatives, Divisional IT leads and Bid teams to understand the needs of business
  • Ensure compliance to solution design in the implementation of projects
  • Provide architectural guidance and design leadership to the Technical Delivery team to ensure delivery is in line with the design
  • Support Technical Delivery Managers and partners to ensure that solution milestones are accomplished as per the workstream plan
  • Explain technical issues and IT solution strategies to stakeholders and other IT professionals as required in support of solutions


What you'll need to do the role:

  • A thorough understanding of modern IT Infrastructure, applications and Cloud based technologies
  • Effective communication skills to convey complex technical details to clients in a straightforward manner
  • The ability to identify technical issues and be able to design solutions to fix them
  • Good knowledge of quality standards, legislation and best practice
  • Capability to build good relationships with clients/operational managers and colleagues
  • Qualifications in Architectural principles such as BCS Enterprise and Solution Architecture/TOGAF 9 are desirable
  • Must be SC cleared or willing to undergo SC clearance
