Expertise in this division ranges from heat exchangers used in off-shore gas processing to the design and manufacture of dynamic instrumentation for vibration, shock and pressure measurements. We are a leading supplier of small-frame gas turbine actuation systems and fuel metering valves for the oil and gas and power generation sectors.

Our Defence Systems product group includes a wealth of expertise with products ranging from airborne decoy deployment systems to projectile tracking technology is another of our specialities. We produce tiny radar systems that are installed on drone aircraft to track incoming missiles or bullets, reassuring aircrew and missile manufacturers that their weapons are working as advertised.

Role Summary

We have an exciting Commercial Operations Analyst role for our award-winning Heatric business. The ideal candidate will be part qualified & have a proven track record of supporting business' on budget control, gross margin management & variant analysis. You will be an effective communicator who can engage and influence at all levels.

The role requires close working with Systems to ensure analysis is based on real data and to support the development of learning from trends analysis. In turn there will be a requirement to work closely with Finance on Project forecasting as part of financial modelling.

Job Core Responsibilities

  • Ongoing review of live project performance compared with budgets/forecasts - followed by documentation and reporting thereof
  • Review project budgets ahead of Gates 2 and 3 as part of multidisciplinary PLM process
  • Deep dive analysis into problem Projects
  • Develop effective link between lessons learned and development of Master cost tool or costing processes
  • Improving project margin management methods and revenue/margin forecasting with optimal use of data, ERP, Power BI and other tools - part of CI regime
  • Support Finance in completion of revenue and margin financial forecasts for Projects (med and long term)
  • Support internal and external audit testing of status of commercial projects


Job Specifications

  • Finance background, ideally part qualified
  • Knowledge of generally accepted accounting practices, procedures and standards policy and procedure development techniques
  • Knowledge of computerized information systems used in financial and/or accounting applications
  • Ability to understand and follow specific instructions and procedures
  • Good ability to research and analyze data effectively
  • Actively gathers data, to compile information, and prepare reports
  • Ability to influence stakeholders & keen attention to detail
