Maritime Engineer

Our client, a large government customer, are seeking a Maritime Engineer to join their team. The role is based in Bristol. The role requires SC clearance and candidates must be sole UK nationals.

Requirements are scheduled to run until 01/09/2023 and offer a rate up to £525/day

IR35 STATUS: Inside IR35. Our client has indicated that they intend to operate the engagement as Inside IR35. Candidates would be required to operate through an umbrella company on this engagement. The rates above represent rate payable to the umbrella co.

Main Responsibilities

•       Reviewing stability and M&C requirements with the naval authority    
•       Producing Certification documentation for CSMS and CSMMC.
•       Assess OPDEF and manage their effect upon HLH Weight and Stability
•       Managing design changes related to stability and M&C improvements
•       Produce operator guidance covering FLAGOS, STOPS, EOPs      

Essential Skills and Experience

•       MEng Naval Architecture or equivalent
•       Chartered or incorporated engineer or has demonstrated equivalent knowledge

Desirable Skills and Experience

•       5+ Years’ experience of providing technical advice and leading the delivery of successful engineering outcomes.
•       Wide ranging depth and breadth of technical experience in own specialism with knowledge and application of systems engineering approaches.
•       Knowledge of the ISM Safety Management System

Other Information

•       Hybrid working from home and Bristol would be expected. Home 3 days/week & Bristol site 2 days/week.
