Summary

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a talented Quality Engineer to join our team in Stevenage. The Quality Engineer will provide a range of expertise to ensure that the products are free of flaws and function as designed. Also, they will participate in assuring high reliability and proper performance per product requirements.

Core Responsibilities

  • Monitor, test, and inspect products to ensure they meet specified standards, are free of flaws, and function as designed. May work in laboratory settings running tests and duplicating real-world conditions, using tools such as micrometers, callipers, gauges, volt meters, ammeters, ohmmeters, and electronic inspection equipment to aid in quality inspections and assessments.
  • Participate in testing and inspection activities associated with product development and all stages of manufacturing. Define and conduct both systematic/methodical and random/arbitrary tests to ensure the proper performance of Meggitt products.
  • Perform internal audits of processes using inspection results and statistical techniques to provide timely, accurate product analysis. Participate in root cause analysis initiatives for process-related concerns. Analyse audit results and determines proper corrective and preventative action.
  • Review and create inspection forms, records, techniques, and procedures for accuracy and relevance and provide changes when necessary.
  • Perform additional responsibilities as assigned.
  • Successfully develop and complete FAIR documentation.
  • Program and run the Coordinate Measuring Machine (CMM) machines.
  • Participate in root cause and corrective action (RCCA) activities such as A3 and 8D's.
  • Create and Complete paperwork such as Process Maps , PPAP, Control Plans and FMEAs.


Skills, Knowledge and Abilities

  • 2-4 years of experience in a relevant position is essential.
  • Knowledge of complex Quality Engineering processes and regulatory requirements is required.
  • A systematic and analytical approach to problem solving is desirable.
  • Advanced knowledge and ability to apply core concepts of engineering.
  • Skilled to interpret internal/external business challenges and make recommendations for improvements to products, processes or services.
  • Able to explain a range of complex technical information.
  • Effective interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills to drive tasks to completion.
  • Confidence when gathering data, compiling information, and preparing reports.
  • Well-organised, detail-oriented, and able to multitask.
  • Proficient computer skills, including proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, Outlook, and database management tools.
