Job Title : Project Manager - Digital Manufacturing
Location: Coventry

About the role

This strategically important and high profile role will provide the successful candidate the opportunity to help shape Meggitt's digital future, delivering the digital manufacturing functionality that Meggitt will utilise in production cells. This will include MES systems, digital SPC, augmented reality, machine connectivity, smart tooling and interfaces to ERP, quality systems and business intelligence tools.
The successful candidate will be part of a team responsible for developing and deploying these technologies to the business. A large part of this will be working with operations, continuous improvement and quality teams at SBUs and sites so that we deploy the right tools in the right ways to solve the right problems.

Core Responsibility

  • Drive teams to successfully execute delivery of Digital projects through the application of appropriate monitors, controls and KPI.
  • Develop and display Subject Matter Expert level knowledge in selected Digital technologies to be capable of providing leadership and support on methods and process to the business before, during and after deployment.
  • Drive accountability for the sites to deliver business case commitments through rigorous scope, cost, schedule, resource and risk management, and evidence the business case benefits have been delivered upon completion.
  • Collaborate closely with SBU, digital team and central ITG to develop and implement enterprise systems that will support Meggitt's digital strategy.
  • Support the development of the business case for allocated SBUs and sites to support the deployment of digital manufacturing solutions meeting the requirements of both Meggitt PLC and the SBU. Secure commitment for required resources to implement solutions at the sites.


Skills and Experience

  • Extensive experience in delivering projects and work packages across multiple technology domains.
  • Experience in applying Project Management standards and techniques, key process areas include: stakeholder management, project planning, monitoring and control, risk & opportunity management, financial management, business cases and benefits.
  • Good knowledge of advanced manufacturing theory and practice with knowledge of digital technologies in leading edge technology organisations.
  • Able to influence and motivate cross-functional teams that are not direct reports, with diverse skills and perspectives, to achieve common goals.
  • Ability to structure and facilitate problem solving within the team to drive improvement.
  • Lead by example and sets high standards, displaying high standards of ethical behaviour as a functional leader for Project Management.
