Role Summary
The ideal candidate will be fully trained and capable of programming, setting and operating a Siemens controlled 3 or 5 Axis machine predominantly making small to medium batch sizes. Typically including being self-motivated, being able to run 2 machines and working on their own. Due to the type of work you will need to have excellent tooling knowledge and the ability to ensure cutting strategy suits production. With a high attention to detail this role will require an engineer that is used to working to tight tolerances.

Core Responsibilities
- Understands all Health and Safety requirements when working in a machine shop environment and can demonstrate an understanding of MSDS, COSHH, PUWER and Risk Assessments
- Skilled person, conversant with all aspects of manual machining including, but not limited to, turning, milling, grinding and bench work
- Specialist in CNC machining techniques and in particular running of Vertical machining centres
- Competent in setting and operation of various types of CNC machines
- Competent in all quality measuring methods including, but not limited to, micrometres, Vernier's and shadowgraph
- Understanding and commitment to 6S principles
- Willing to work Different Shift Patterns
Skills, Knowledge & Attirubutes
Qualifications
- Ideally NVQ Lvl 4, ONC or equivalent qualification in a Mechanical Engineering based subject, however machining experience will be taken into consideration for any applications that do not meet this criteria.
- Good relevant and demonstrable experience will be considered in the absence of formal qualifications
