MBSE Systems Engineer

A Systems Engineer is required to support a programme of engineering transformation, centred around the rollout and embedding of a standards-based (BSI 15288 etc) Engineering Development Framework.

The selected candidate will have a demonstrably strong Systems Engineering background with knowledge and experience of the whole product development lifecycle. They will likely have held the post of Systems Architect, Systems Engineer, or Systems Engineering Manager, and will have developed strong consultative skills as part of their subsequent career development.

  • Practitioner in Model Based Systems Engineering using Architectural Frameworks such as MODAF/NAF. Using behavioural, structural, and trace modelling to define future systems:
    • Familiarity with UML, SysML, Archimate, BPMN etc Requirements derivation

Has a thorough understanding of abstraction levels and how they apply to the development lifecycle. Understands the "non-identical twins" relationship between architecture and requirements. Can use and direct others in development of architecture to recognised standards using architecture frameworks. Has an understanding of wider modelling approaches such as 1st principles modelling, empirical modelling, event modelling. Has a practical understanding of formal methods such as state machines. Can apply performance parametrics to models Required Competencies:
