Project Manager

A fantastic opportunity to secure a fixed-term contract till October 2023 as a Project Manager within a non-ministerial government department. As a member of the Change and Portfolio function, the postholder will work closely with colleagues across the organisation, including Senior Reporting Officers and Project Boards. You will have accountability and primary responsibility for the successful delivery of project outcomes encompassing time, costs, scope and quality, utilising appropriate agile or waterfall methods.

What will you be doing?

??      Project Planning, Management and Reporting 

??      Be primarily responsible for the timely and on-cost delivery of projects from inception through to evaluation and close

??      Support Senior Responsible Officers and Product Owners

??      Deliver projects so that they meet the strategic priorities of the organisation to ensure maximum impact and contribution to the overall change direction of the organisation

??      Working with ScrumMasters, Product Teams, Application Support, Software Testing, Infrastructure and service-based subject matter experts and decision-makers to reduce blockages and ensure timely delivery

??      Management of 3rd party vendors involved in project delivery including responsibility for delivery and the identification & communication of risk

??      Working collaboratively within the multi-skilled PMO function and in tandem with specialist delivery managers in our Digital, Data and Technology function.

What are we looking for?

??      Able to communicate effectively across organisational, technical and political boundaries

??      Qualified Waterfall Project Manager (Prince2 or equivalent) Qualified Agile Project Manager (or equivalent)

??      Experience of handling multiple projects/products simultaneously
