Summary

The Planning and Inventory Manager for Meggitt Loughborough Polymers and Composites is functionally responsible for the planning team on site. They are responsible for the professional capability within the function on the site and will coach and train where necessary to improve the overall planning capability. They will champion and drive ERP compliance and business performance to key planning KPIs. They will model, forecast and coordinate the activity to deliver against the inventory budget, keeping the key stakeholders of the business informed.

Core Responsibilities

  • Own the ERP planning process for the site.
  • Ensure all EPR planning processes are adhered to.
  • Ensure training and competence activities in relation to planning activities are coordinated for all planning professionals.
  • Identify a structured improvement programme to drive inventory optimisation, including modelling what the realistic targets should be
  • Own the activities that drive the business inventory performance in line with expectations.
  • Drive the creation of and maintenance of a doable production plan which is aligned to customer expectations.
  • Coach and train the planning professionals and key individuals within the business.
  • Drive business performance in line with planning owned KPIs and own the budgeting and forecasting of these measures.
  • Working in conjunction with the customer service Manager, module managers and sales team to have the order book content in line with customer expectations.
  • Assist all new programs teams in formulating the Logistics element of any customer offer, i.e. VMI, and consignment agreements.


Skills, Knowledge and Abilities

  • Significant planning experience is required.
  • Advanced knowledge in areas related to inventory control and analysis and uses expertise to solve problems from a systematic and analytical approach.
  • Exercises judgment based on the analysis of multiple sources of information.
  • Excellent communication skills to explain difficult or sensitive information.
  • Strong computer skills and attention to detail.
  • Education - Post-Secondary degree or the equivalent combination of relevant education and work experience that will allow successful performance of job expectations.
