The Force Contact Centre provides a critical service to the people of Greater Manchester. Each year, the branch deals with approximately two and a half million emergency and non-emergency calls, by responding to local and individual needs through our call handling and command and control service. By being professional and reassuring, our staff and officers deal with a whole spectrum of incidents and events, often making life critical decisions about how calls are responded to.
Youll provide administrative support which includes opening, sorting and distributing the post, ordering of equipment and supplies, completing purchase orders, updating and maintaining notice boards, together with reporting faults and liaising with the facilities department. You will also produce management information and documentation as requested, inputting expenses and overtime on to GMP systems along with being responsible for safe keeping of petty cash. You will deal with all visitors to the branch, along with any telephone and email enquiries.
You will be based at Central Park Complex, Central Park, Northampton Road, M40 5BP. You may be on occasion, expected to travel to other FCC locations to provide admin support (Tameside OCR, Jowetts Walk, Ashton-under-lyne, OL7 0BB and Claytonbrook Complex, Louisa Street, Manchester M11 1AL).
The successful candidate will be required to work as part of a team and must have previous administration experience. With a sound knowledge of the Microsoft Office Suite you should have a good understanding of computer packages and have worked in a similar capacity, checking, recording, inputting and retrieving information.
