Summary

The Manufacturing Engineer shall ensure all tooling is handled professionally and effectively in accordance with the business process. Governance of the material batch release and re life processes on site. Support new and legacy projects.

Core Responsibilities

  • Manage of the site tooling database with governance over the tooling maintenance schedule and audits.
  • Perform maintenance service and minor tooling repairs on assigned equipment when required.
  • Control and coordinate tool movements to subcontractors for repair/replacement.
  • Control the material batch release and re life processes on site.
  • Focus on efficiency improvements and cost savings.
  • Create concise work instructions for an end to end composite component manufacture (Laminating through to Assembly and Paint) to support a "Right First Time" philosophy.


Skills, Knowledge & Abilities

  • Knowledge and appreciation of composite materials processing methods such as in and out of autoclave pre-preg systems and RTM, along with knowledge of core processing techniques is required.
  • Knowledge and understanding of relevant composite material testing are advantageous.
  • Ability to work independently and prioritise duties with minimal supervision, in order to meet deadlines.
  • Strong organisational, analytical and communication skills.
  • A self-starter, with a proven ability for working with minimal supervision and taking ownership of driving activities through to completion.
  • Good interpersonal skills that allow the ability to work as part of the wider operations team.
  • Ability to prioritise.
