Network Designer

Bristol

Initial 3 months with extension to 12 months

Boeing Defence UK is looking for a Network Designer based in Bristol. This role will involve contributing to the delivery of projects specifically the design and implementation of networking tasks.

Responsibilities
• Continuously looking for improvements to ensure services operated are aligned to industry best practice and Boeing enterprise best practices.
• Translating solution requirements into Networking solutions
• Working closely other Architecture resources to help build the solution design
• Identify and raise technical challenges and limitations within the networking estate
• Provide network consultancy to colleagues within the organisation
• Respresent Networks and Infrastructure at meetings
• Production of HLD and LLD

Desirable qualifications
• Cisco CCNA, CCNP or equivalent,
• Cisco Switching
• resilient TCP/IP Network
• Firewall (ASA, Checkpoint, Juniper Netscreen)
• VPN technologie
• F5 load balance
• CISCOs ACI.
• Solarwinds
• OSPF and IP protocol experience ie SNMP, SMTP, DNS, DHCP, NTP, HTTP
• Linux operating systems,
• VMware
• Juniper SSL
• Security appliance terminology,
• infoblox DNS/DHCP Management,
• System log management and network/server monitoring.


Competencies:
Candidate should typically have 5 or more years of experience in a senior networking support role in an IT or telecommunications profession. Able to demonstrate excellent English oral and written communications skills. Able to communicate with and support teammates, customers, and suppliers in a professional manner. Able to demonstrate an aptitude for troubleshooting, superior knowledge of network technologies, server computing systems including operating systems, networks, hardware, software packages and utilities, computer control languages and commands. Able to demonstrate proficiency in the use of standard applicable computing disciplines including change, configuration, problem, performance, and operational management. Able to demonstrate the ability to analyze, manage and maintain network topology, network devices, routers, firewall’s, servers and server delivery systems, subsystems, and components.

Education and Experience:
Prefer advanced degree in Computer Science or related technical discipline, or equivalent experience. Desire technical certification.
