The property management team have a responsibility to the force for the effective, efficient and economic handling of seized and found property whilst ensuring that Force Property Policy is maintained and followed. The main tool of Property Management is the KIM Property Management System which is used by officers to log all seized/found/lost property. This system is owned and provided by KIM Software Solutions and is commonly known as KIM. The Property Management team is currently made up of Property Supervisor and Property Store staff that are based on Divisions.

It will be your responsibility to ensure that property is handled efficiently, effectively and economically. Whilst receiving seized and found property, you will ensure that correct procedures are followed in relation to its handling, storage and disposal. Assisting with the maintenance of the property office you will ensure that all computerised property records are inputted, updated and monitored. You will also review and process correspondence and deal with telephone enquiries from internal and external sources including members of the public and face to face enquiries from internal customers within the organisation.

It will be your duty to promote and comply with GMP's policies on health and safety both in the delivery of services and the treatment of others

You will be experienced in working within a clerical/administration/stores environment or similar. You will be capable of producing work to the required standard of accuracy and will have carried out duties/tasks that involve dealing with the public; using interpersonal skills and the application of procedures.

It is desirable that the post holder has keyboard and computer application experience and is fit to carry out duties which include lifting and carrying items of property. There are no formal qualifications required for this role however a B/TEC qualification or equivalent would be desirable.

The role will be based at Salford Property Store, Swinton Police Station, Chorley Road, Swinton, Manchester M27 6AZ
