Job Designation

Meggitt is embarking on an exciting project to transform our UK Polymers and Composites sites into a world-class engineering and manufacturing capability: somewhere we're proud to work and somewhere we're proud to bring our customers.
The Transformation Project includes a major investment in buildings and infrastructure, disposal of some non-core product lines, transfer of some processes to the external supply chain and the consolidation of two sites into one, all whilst continuing to deliver exemplary levels of customer service.
To support the delivery of this transformation we have an exciting opportunity for a skilled and dedicated Project Manager to join our team. We are looking for a Project Manager to contribute to the future of Meggitt by leading various Integrated Project Teams (IPTs) required to deliver the various elements of the Work Breakdown Structure (WBS). The ideal candidate will have experience delivering a complex project within a manufacturing environment (ideally a transformation project), and be required to prepare and present updates to appropriate stakeholders of different levels.

Core Responsibilities

  • Lead projects from requirements definition through deployment, identifying schedules, scopes, budget estimations, and project implementation plans, including risk mitigation.
  • To coordinate internal and external resources, ensuring projects remain within scope, schedule, and defined budgets, in collaboration with wider project team and stakeholders from various functional departments.
  • Establish and maintain relationships with appropriate client stakeholders, both internally and externally, providing day-to-day contact on project status and changes.
  • Report project outcomes and/or risks to the appropriate management channels as needed, escalating issues as necessary based on project work plans .
  • Ensure all actions are delivered on time, within budget and in accordance with the project requirements.

Skills, Knowledge & Abilities

  • Expert knowledge in material movement (working with Supply Chain) is highly desirable.
  • High level of energy and enthusiasm, and a demonstrated tendency to take ownership.
  • Have knowledge of ERP systems (SAP Preferred) in operations.
  • Proven track record delivering a complex project within a manufacturing environment (ideally a transformation project), ideally with Aerospace experience (though not essential).
  • Outstanding communication skills both written and verbal.
  • Able to communicate clearly with stakeholders of different levels.
  • Good leadership skills, with the ability to manage IPT team members, as well as being able to provide clear direction and cut-through ambiguity.
  • A relevant professional project management qualification is preferred.
