Portfolio Analyst (Inside IR35)
Contract Term: Until 31st March 2023

Location: Hybrid ( 1-2 days a week in Abbey wood/ Bristol)

SC clearance is required for this role therefore the successful candidate must be willing to undergo security clearance.

As a Portfolio Analyst, your main responsibilities would be: 
•    Oversee a collection of programmes or projects that contribute to the delivery of departmental or business area objectives. 
•    You will focus primarily on providing insight, information and support that strengthens portfolio governance and enables prioritisation decisions and effective allocation of resources across the portfolio. 
•    You will enjoy Governance, encouraging project or programme teams to adopt new policy, new apps and technology which will exploit information to deliver benefits. 
•    You will also make sure the teams follow DD or wider government guidelines to enable delivery of departmental/business strategic objectives. 
•    Reporting and Assurance to seniors is critical, your role will involve writing reports, making recommendations, analysing a range of information sources, engagement with programme and project stakeholders and converting this into informed insights using appropriate reporting and visualisation methods.
•    Ensure data recorded across multiple Service Exec artefacts is coherent and aligned. 
•    Analysis of Portfolio Metrics Deliver timely and accurate MI to the 1* Service Executive for key 2* reviews. 
•    Deliver an effective and standardised PBI Reporting Dashboard for B1-led Programme Reviews. Provide analysis of Organisation Design metrics and implementation of Strategic Workforce Plan. 
•    Implement Reporting Governance Lead on the Portfolio Change Management processes (Options and FCRs). 
•    Ensure that appropriate controls are in place to escalate variances to the Portfolio Manager, PIO Lead and Service Executive. 
•    Provide quality assurance of portfolio documents in line with defined PMO processes and best practices, ensuring consistent quality across all portfolio documentation e.g. BPR & PMB submissions Maintain strategic view (and forward look) of MIX Business Case submissions 
•    Support Delivery Managers Coordinate the recording and analysis of project data and respond to reporting requests to provide a strategic overview of project progress. 
•    Proactively guide Delivery Managers and Programme Managers in the identification of items for reporting into key forums (BPR, BRs PMB etc) through the governance channels Support Delivery Managers with the processes, governance and maintenance of project and services data capture. 
•    Induct new PM staff in MI and Reporting requirements in Defence Digital. 

You’ll have relevant experience in:
•    SC clearance is required for this role therefore the successful candidate must be willing to undergo security clearance.
•    APM Project Management Qualification.
•    SAFe Agile.
•    Experience on providing insight, information and support that strengthens portfolio governance and enables prioritisation decisions and effective allocation of resources across the portfolio.
•    Experience of ensuring optimal delivery of departmental/business strategic objectives in line with priorities through the analysis of a range of information sources and engagement with programme and project stakeholders, and converting this into informed insights using appropriate reporting and visualisation methods.
