Serco is one of the leading public sector providers of customer services. We pride ourselves on delivering high quality services, often supporting some of the most vulnerable people in our society - and by joining us at our Local Government Partnerships as a Project Manager you'll ensure that we continue to deliver this incredibly important work.

As Project Manager you'll work on a wide range of business and IT projects across our business. Working across Professional Services (ProServ) you'll be responsible for the planning, management, coordination and financial control of projects, ensuring the appropriate governance is applied where necessary. You'll ensure the project lifecycle is maintained at all stages and that your projects are completed on time, within budget and the agreed objectives are achieved. By overseeing a range of projects, you'll ensure desired results are achieved through utilising the most efficient resources and ensuring that the different interests involved are satisfied.

Whilst this role is predominantly home based, you will be required to travel to one of our 3 core locations (Lincoln, Peterborough and Hertford) and sometimes further across the UK as the work dictates could be necessary.

What you'll need to do the role:

If you are an experienced Project Manager then we want to hear from you! You should have a good background in project management capabilities with evidence of excellent project and programme management knowledge, techniques, Stakeholder Management and production of project artefacts and approaches.

Ideally, you'll be PRINCE2 qualified in project management and/or applicable practical experience with demonstrable ability to manage and deliver multiple project/programmes work streams within budget and timeframe constraints

With a good understanding of commercial and risk acuity, you'll easily identify with the project issues and be able to proactively manage risks and commercial exposure

Why Serco?
  • Meaningful and vital work : Working as part of ProServ means you'll be helping our Local and Central Government clients (and Serco) deliver better public services through transformational innovation and change projects. You'll be at the heart of work that meets budget challenges, whilst never compromising on delivery to service users.
  • A world of opportunity: We're a small but perfectly formed team of 80 people - that also happens to be a part of a global FTSE 250 company. Like a small company you'll find hands-on work that is packed with variety across a range of sectors, whilst benefitting from the clear progression and development opportunities that you'd expect from a big company
  • Great people: Our constant at ProServ is the friendly, approachable, and diverse team you'll be a part of. We also support a flexible work environment that accommodates a great work/life balance

What we offer:

We offer the opportunity to be a part of our special people-driven culture - where our diverse and caring workforce support not just each other but the wider community that relies on our services, plus;
  • A competitive salary (dependent upon skills and experience), pension (matched up to 6%), life insurance; 25 days leave & bank holidays and the chance to buy more!
