The role

The difference our new Satcom Head of Transition will make
As a Satcom Head of Transition, you'll have a role that's out of the ordinary. We are seeking a Satcom Head of Transition to mobilise, grow and deliver the contract. The programme will provide Satellite Communications Beyond Line Of Sight (BLOS) capability to the UK MoD, Partners Across Government, and international markets; and as such, forms a significant component of our Mission System's Communications & Critical Assets (C&CA) Capability Area.

Day to day, you'll support the SatCom Programme Director through leadership of a multi-discipline mobilisation team, driving high performance behaviours and outcomes aligned to the Babcock Purpose and Principles, support commercial negotiations with the customer, define, form, and provide leadership to the right delivery management teams for each element of the project, collaborate across C&CA, Mission Systems and Babcock, to ensure the right capabilities are available at the right times for the project, including leading the make/buy decisions and hold accountability for execution plans, reviews, and risk assessments.

Essential experience
• Must already hold or be capable and prepared to undergo DV security clearance.
• Proven effective programme leadership in a client facing role, including project mobilisation.
• Evidence of proactive programme-wide stakeholder management and relationship building.
• Strong financial awareness and experience estimating, forecasting and establishing controls.
• Experience in creating effective information flows and communication with key stakeholders and teams.
