We are looking to hire a Pre sales consultant to work with our technical customers within the MOD to help shape and win new work for our Digital Defence Services Business Unit.

Role Summary

  • As part of the Presales team within the Digital Defence Services Business Unit you will provide subject-matter, and sectoral, expertise to continue growth of our business.
  • You will work closely with sales and account teams to identify, develop, and respond to, opportunities across our client sectors (UK HMG and critical transport infrastructure organisations).
  • You will engage with senior client stakeholders to understand, influence and shape market opportunities and our matching offerings (secure, data-driven, digital services supporting our customers' mission critical activity).
  • You will lead bid content development, producing compelling and exciting bid responses and providing technical and creative direction for bid teams.


Role Responsibilities

  • Lead the development of, and curate, customer-facing offerings, performing horizon scanning and market engagement to direct and combine our capabilities in response to customer challenges.
  • Lead the development of bid responses, including defining win themes, constructing our overall approach, and writing bid content.
  • Engage with and support various internal communities including:
    • account management teams to: navigate stakeholders, understand customer challenges, drive strategy and support bid activity
    • customer-facing delivery teams to: aide high performing teams/high quality delivery, and capture lessons learnt for our offerings/bids and future delivery
    • marketing & communications to: deliver relevant, proactive, thought leadership to increase customer awareness of our services
    • delivery, finance and commercial assurance to: balance client requirements and drivers with our costs and risks to achieve high technical/financial scores for deliverable proposals.
    • Be a public voice for our Digital Defence Services BU - engaging on key HMG themes and providing thought leadership


    What we are looking for - Skills & Experience

    • Knowledge of Ministry of Defence and related Defence Industrial Base challenges with regard to digital/data services with HMG security frameworks - especially experience with:
      • GDS standards/Technology Code Of Practice/DDat roles
      • agile methodologies
      • cloud technologies
      • data management & data architecture
      • Knowledge and insight of HMG digital & data, and consultancy, direction - with engagement on current and future topics within Ministry of Defence, including through key HMG Depts, Crown Commercial Services, industry analysts such as Gartner.
      • Ability to perform horizon-scanning and thought-leadership, including engagement with stakeholders to explore challenges and potential solutions
      • Ability to identify innovative solutions and document these in creative and compelling ways
      • Ability to adapt to fast-paced environment, rapidly reprioritising activities
      • Ability to collaborate and communicate with a wide variety external and internal stakeholders
