Job Designation

We have an exciting opportunity for a Trainee Laminator to join our team in Shepshed. Meggitt design and manufacture advanced composite materials that can be found on a vast range of commercial and military aircraft.

Job Core Responsibilities

Task Management
  • Carry out Tool preparation,(Clean and apply Release Agent)
  • Kitting and lay-up operations, (Cutting kit of materials for build sequence, Warp and Weft. Lay-up material on to mould surface correct orientation and build sequence.)
  • Understanding of Shelf Life of Materials would be an advantage.
  • Vacuum bagging techniques (Manufacture breather bag material kit
Communication
  • Attends start of shift meeting with team to understand the team's targets, any key issues / problems and any other communications (e.g. visits, health & safety issues etc.)
  • Attends end of shift meeting with team to review the shift and if targets and performance measures have been met
  • Escalation of issues to team leaders in timely manner


Job Specifications

Education: A Secondary Certificate/High School Diploma or equivalent combination of relevant education and work experience that will allow successful performance of job expectations.
Certifications: Vocational training, apprenticeships or the equivalent experience in related field
Years Experience: 0-2 years of relevant experience
Skills:
  • Good mechanical aptitude
  • Able to operate a variety of hand tools and light machinery
  • Capable of performing basic mathematics
  • Ability to read and interpret company documents, such as safety rules, operating/manufacturing instructions, policies and procedure
  • Good manual dexterity required to work with small parts
  • Able to problem-solve using existing procedures to perform straightforward tasks
  • Effective oral, written and interpersonal skills
