What we are made of
We are looking for the absolute best Front End Developers in the industry to join our team, following continuous growth and success in the UK Government and Law Enforcement sectors. We understand that behind great solutions there are great people: our employees. Our people are what make BAE Systems; they are ingenious, innovative and dedicated. We have a mixture of generalists and specialists and recognise that this diversity contributes to our success. In general we work in teams, and we recognise the benefits of forming teams from a mix of disciplines, which allows us to come up with balanced, high quality solutions.
We pride ourselves on being able to solve our customers' most complex problems. We work hard and often go the extra mile, but we recognise people's efforts and that everyone has a life outside of work. We encourage people to speak up if they want to rotate to a new project in support of career development, or even just to face a new challenge. Our breadth across the UK Government and Law Enforcement sectors provides diverse opportunities for our people to develop their careers in new areas of expertise or with new and prestigious clients. We are always happy to support our engineers in furthering their professional journeys.
We know the leading developers in the industry command a top-draw salary and our package is competitive.
What you will do for us
You will be working in a fast growing project team designing and delivering elegant application front ends, for a variety of uses. It will be your responsibility to work with the client and transform their requirements for UI and UX into functional and polished designs. You will also work with Back End Developers to provide seamless integrations between GUIs and back end functionality. This role will involve updating and refurbishing existing applications, and creating new applications from scratch, therefore adaptability is going to be critical to your role.
The project you will be joining makes use of the Scrum project framework to deliver high-quality software to our customer. You will be working within a Scrum team and following Agile practices to develop and deliver products using an iterative process. Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices would be preferable.
The technologies which we employ to deliver front end functionality include AngularJS, ReactJS, JavaScript, Pug, Jasmine, Karma, Node, Gulp, Electron, Webpack, SCSS, and HTML5. Using these tools you should be able to create functional and attractive applications which deliver a great user experience to out customers.
