Job Title: Radar Systems Electronics/Engineering Apprentice
Location: RAF Fylingdales, Pickering, North Yorkshire, YO18 7NT
Working Week: 37 hours per week, Monday to Friday 08.00 am - 04.00 pm
Salary: Up to £10500 per annum
Apprenticeship Qualification: L3 Maintenance and Operations Engineering Technician
Expected Apprenticeship Duration: 36 months

About the role

Serco Central Government is looking for a highly enthusiastic, talented and self-motivated individual to join its Engineering Team at RAF Fylingdales, supporting the Operations and Maintenance of the Phased Array Radar. We are looking for an individual who has the potential to become an accomplished Systems Engineer at Fylingdales and will become an integral part of the Engineering Team.

Key Accountabilities
  • To support and learn electrical and electronic engineering, computer engineering and system analysis
  • To learn and perform project management, programming (Programming (Matlab, C++, Shell Scripts)
  • After being trained you will assist with satellite tracking, missile and space launch analysis and equipment maintenance planning,
  • As part of our apprenticeship scheme, you'll be enrolled on Level 3 Maintenance and Operations Engineering Technician qualification (delivered by Redcar and Cleveland College.). About you

We are looking for somebody who is, enthusiastic, confident, determined and hardworking and who is happy to constantly learn and develop new skills with an interest in marine services. You will be proactive, resourceful and efficient with a can-do attitude and committed to Serco's Values of Trust, Care, Innovation and Pride.

You'll have five GCSE grades GCSEs Grades A* to C or 9 to 4 under the new grading system in Maths, English and Science (or acceptable equivalent).
