Policing is not simply a job for police officers. It actually requires a large multi-disciplined team, working together and making best use of the skills and resources available.

As a part of the Crime Recording & Resolution Unit the aim of this role is to provide a 24-hour service to members of the public, operational officers and partners dealing with incident and crime reports.

You will need to seek all opportunities to appropriately, ethically and professionally assist the informant as near as possible to the first point of contact and provide them with a clear understanding of how their contact will be progressed.

You will also apply a victim-orientated approach to crime recording and problem solving, focusing on protecting members of the public and keeping them safe.

Part-time 16:00-21:00 Monday to Friday, Minimum of 10 hours per week split over two days of your choice or a maximum of 25 hours per week available. Shift allowances 10%.

Level 2 Customer Service Practitioner qualification opportunity! For 16 hours minimum or above

In addition to your core duties, we are also able to offer you the opportunity to complete a fully funded recognised qualification subject to eligibility requirements. The Level 2 Customer Service Practitioner qualification will help you to perform your role more effectively, however as it's not specific to this role it will also improve your future employment or promotion prospects. It also provides a stepping-stone to achieving higher level qualifications if the future if you wish to.

You will be invited to an information session that will provide you with an overview of the qualification and the different support mechanisms in place to support you. GMP will provide full support - there's no cost to you and all on and off the job training will be carried out during your standard working hours, you wouldn't be expected to do anything within your own personal time.
