Our client, a large government customer, are seeking a Technical Engineering Support Specialist to join their team. The role is based in Corsham with travel to other sites. The role requires SC clearance.

Requirements are scheduled to run until 30/09/2022 and offer a rate up to £525/day

IR35 STATUS: Inside IR35. Our client has indicated that they intend to operate the engagement as Inside IR35. Candidates would be required to operate through an umbrella company on this engagement. The rates above represent rate payable to the umbrella co.

The OpNET Technical Engineering Support Specialist will provide technical SME deliverables and assistance through the provision of complex technical consultation and documentation on the development of NSoIT(D) / OpNET capability for Maritime Platforms. To be able to achieve this, the candidate must have a strong background in Information Technology and have a clear understanding of the challenges of design, build, testing, commissioning, and installation into Maritime platforms.

Main responsibilities will include, but not be limited to:

  • Making use of exceptional stakeholder and communication skills to handle diverse and adverse audiences.
  • Use strong critical thinking and analytical skills to solve problems and propose new ideas.
  • Respond to technical RFIs and clarification requests associated with system design, build and integration activities.
  • Conduct change impact analysis.
  • Support interface development, system installation, testing and commissioning, including Combat System Integration activity leading to system acceptance.
  • Contribute to activity supporting the hosting of an Integrated Support Environment (ISE) at Corsham and the instantiation of PTP OpNET / LBIF shore test and trials capability facility.
  • Support the technical generation of OpNET Government Furnished Information (GFI) including, but not limited to:
  1. Design Studies
  2. Change Impact Analysis
  3. Interface Development
  4. Installation, Test & Commissioning
  5. Combat System Integration
  6. Acceptance
  7. Through Life Support Services to RN current and future Fleet platforms

Candidate Eligibility

Candidates must be eligible to work in the UK, this role will not offer Visa sponsorship. Tier 2 – General visas are cannot be accepted.
